RPC 4773, CHOICE AEF, 18.8mm, 4.58 grams

Obverse: Diademed and draped bust of Cleopatra to right Reverse: Nike advancing right, holding wreath and palm, inscription around, all within wreath

An WONDERFUL SHARP coin with excellent surfaces, of the famous Cleopatra, from the territory bequeathed to her by Mark Antony. Antony had executed the rulers and granted this land north of Israel also known as Chalkis ad Libanon to Cleopatra. Eventually this land was ruled by the descendants of Herod.

A little off center though the FULL head of Cleopatra is on the coin. A much inferior specimen just fetched over $1400 in the recent Heritage auction, see here.
