Circular silver medal with lateral cylinder and ring for ribbon suspension; the face with a star on top center, inscribed in the center below an image of a mosque in Herat in Arabic script the name of the ruler امیر عبدالرحمن within a circular border; the reverse inscribed in Arabic ‘victory of Herat’ and dated ‘1318’ (AD 1900)  within a floral border; no ribbon. The medal was awarded in 1900 to reward to those who participated in that victory. A rare late medal.

Abdur Rahman Khan was Emir of Afghanistan from 1880 to 1901. He was the third son of Mohammad Afzal Khan, and grandson of Dost Mohammad Khan.
