Comments
Al-Mansur or Abu Ja'far Abdallah ibn Muhammad al-Mansur was the second Abbasid Caliph from 136 AH to 158 AH. He was born in AD 712 and died in AD. 775. He was the brother of al-Saffah and the father of next Abbasid ruler al-Mahdi. He is generally regarded as the real founder of the Abbasid Caliphate.
Like Umayyad coins, some of al-Mansur's coins lack the reference to his name. This is a typical example with his heir's name on reverse.
