Aes Grave teruncia. ca. 220 BC.
Denomination : Bronze teruncia.
Mint : Luceria in Apulia (which was a Roman city after 314 BC, so we have listed this coin under the Republic rather than as a Greek coin).
Reference : Thurlow-Vecchi #283. Haeberlin plate 71, 21-23.
Size : 27.2 x 29.5 mm.
Weight : 31.55 grams.
Grade : VF with a slightly heavy patination
Obverse : Eight pointed star with a dot in the middle (on this specimen the dot in the middle is weak).
Reverse : A dolphin with three dots above (denomination mark for 1/4 Aes), and an "L" below.
These are crudely cast coins, and this specimen is a reasonably nice example of the issue.
