Mark Antony.  April of 43 BC.

Denomination : Silver Denarius. Mint : Cisalpine Gaul.

Reference : Sear-1464

Size : 16.4 x 17.1 mm. Weight : 3.15 grams.

Grade : Fair/VG

Obverse : Head of Mark Antony right, with an Lituus behind.  The obverse inscription would have read M ANTON IMP to the right, but is totally off the flan.

Reverse : Head of Julius Caesar right, with a small jug behind his neck, and CAESAR DIC to the right.   About 60% of the reverse inscription can be read on this coin, but it is very worn and will not show well on an image.

I have attributed this to Sear #1464 rather than 1465, because the beaded boarder on the obverse, if extrapolated to below the bust, would not leave enough room for any inscription on that position, and thus it has to be the shorter obverse inscription variety of 1464.
