The Kingdom of Maitrakas of Valabhi was a Gupta successor state that was part of the Savrashtra in the West.

Size : 11.4 x 11.9 mm. Weight : 2.00 grams. (this is a fairly small coin).
Reference : MA 4897 variety.
Grade VF for wear, but weak areas.
Obverse : Bust of a King right.
Reverse : Trident with local style inscription around. The inscription is a variation on RAJNO MAHAKSHARAPA PARAMADITYA BHAKTA MAHASAMANTA SRI SARVVA BHATTARAKASA, naming Bhattaraka who was the founder of the Kingdom.
