Maximianus AD 292-294 Billon Antoninianus – A scarce obverse/reverse combination

Maximianus (AD 286-305), billon Antoninianus, AD 292-294, Lyon (Lugdunum) mint, m.m. B on reverse only. Obv. Radiate and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. PAX standing facing left holding olive branch and sceptre, B in exergue. 4.05g, die axis 12h (Sear – unlisted variant (RCV IV); RIC V (Diocletian) 407). A superbly rounded example, delightfully toned dark grey and problem free fields, pleasing. Extremely fine and a scarce obverse/reverse combination.
