Kushano Sasanians, Ohrmazd (Hormizd) I Kushanshah. Circa AD 265-295. AE Unit
13.55mm, 1.95gm. Crowned bust right / Bust, holding spear and wreath, emerging from fire
altar.
Cribb 25, KM 1091. Good Very fine. Very nice example (much better in hand).
Note:
The Kushano-sasanians were sasanian princes ruling
the old kushan lands in Bactria, the Kabul valley and Gandhara, as
sasanian vasalls. Some periods these kushan-shahs were more or less
independent, like this ruler, Hormazd I Kushanshah, ruling about AD
295-325 (or 270-295 according to Cribb). Mint for this type might be the
Kabul valley.
