Maximianus Æ follis, 285-305 AD, 10.28gm, struck in Lundinium (London) after ca. 303 AD, 28.8mm.  Obv: IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG; laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right.  Rev: GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI; Genius standing left, chlamys over left shoulder, modius on head, holding patera and cornucopiae.  RIC VI p125, 25.  aEF


This is one of a series of coins we will be offering over the next few weeks which we have repurchased from one of our customers.The customer obtained a David Sear Certificate of Authenticity for all of these coins, however unfortunately all the original certificates were lost.The customer made copies of the certificates, however, which have been located and which we will provide with these coins when they are purchased.We have verified wtih Mr. Sear that the original certificates can be “reconstituted” from Mr. Sear’s registration numbers that are shown on the copies.The COA for this particular coin describes its condition as “about EF with nice even dark patina.”
