Etruscan, Genucilia Group, c.340 BC. A small plate with a pedestaled foot adorned with a black star pattern over a white ground. Dia: 5 7/8"; H: 2 �". The Genucilia Group is the last phase of Etruscan pottery and this type was often used as an offering dish.

The Etruscans were an advanced civilization that flourished in Central Italy from 800BC to around 100BC when the Romans assimilated them. They contributed much to the Roman civilization during the early formation of the Roman culture.
