Reverse: the legend in English reads: TO COMMEMORATE THE ROYAL VISIT  JUNE 18TH 1873 around the rim. In the centre OF THE SHAH OF PERSIA TO ENGLAND in six lines.

Grade: very fine, SCARCE.

Notes: Naser al-Din Shah ruled Iran almost 50 years. He was the first Iranian king who made state visit to other countries, including European cities. In Great Britain, he received by Queen Victoria. His personal account of his trip was soon translated into English and within a year of his journey to Europe was published.
