Comments The Nagas were a tribe who established a kingdom in north central India during the period after the decline of the Kushan empire and before the westward expansion of the Gupta realm. Their capital, Padmavati, is estimated by historians to be in the area of Gwalior in modern Madhya Pradesh. Ganapati Naga appears to have been the last ruler of the dynasty.
