Comments This coin has the unusual feature of showing the outer edge of one of the punches on the flan, which allows us to measure the overall diameter of the punch (22 mm) ... RARE thus and a CHOICE specimen.

I have developed a classification of these coins based on the design of the "septa-radiate" punches. Each punch has 6 "petals" radiating from the central circle, and a seventh "stem" ... just a line without the "petal." Further, the punches feature a single pellet. The classification depends upon the location of this pellet vis-a-vis the stem. If you arrange the stem to be at 6 o'clock (see illustration below), the petals are at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 o'clock and the pellet can be located at 2, 4, 8, 10 or 12 o'clock. This coin features the pellet at 10 o'clock ... hence I call it Type 10.
