Comments Sher Shah was a brilliant general and also a brilliant administrator. He drove the Mughal emperor Humayun from India and re-established the Delhi Sultanate. Among his many civil reforms was the introduction of the rupee, which continues as the Indian monetary unit to this day. This coin has an unusual treatment of the word Sher in line 1 of the obverse.
