A solid gold ancient Byzantine solidus minted under Emperor Heraclius, (Flavius Heraclius Augustus). Struck 610 - 641 AD at the Constantinople mint. 

The obverse depicts the cross topped crowned busts of Heraclius and his brother, Heraclius Constantine (Constantine III) on the left. The legend reading;

d[vo] d[ominvs] NN[ostri dvo] hERACLIUS ET hERA[clivs] CONST[antinvs] P[ater] P[atriae]AV[gvstvs]

"Our Two Lords, Heraclius and Heraclius Constantinus, Fathers of the People, Augusti"

The reverse shows cross on steps, the legend reads:

VICTORIA AVG ?E

"To the Victory of the Emperors"
