Obverse: M. ANTONIVS. IMP. COS. DESIG. ITER ET TERT. Laureate bust of Mark Antony right, lituus below; wreath of ivy and flowers around.
Reverse: III. VIR. R.P.C. Draped bust of Octavia right, above cista, flanked by twisting snakes.

Precious exemplar of this very rare and desired coin, in EF-/VF+ condition, conserving full details in both sides, very bold reliefs and nice tone of silver.

This issue commemorates the marriage of Mark Antony with Octavian's sister. It also celebrates Antony's status as the ‘New Dionysus’, an honor which had been bestowed on him at the time of his arrival in Ephesus in 41 BC.
