It indicates ‘X-3b’, but this reference corresponds to ‘Large lettering’ (2nd type) with pellets as separations in the legend on the observe. On this example, the separators are stars, corresponding to the ‘Small lettering’ (3rd type), i.e. references X-2b (plain edge) and X-2c (reeded edge). The edge of this coin is plain, as mentioned in the previous sales (ex. Maison Palombo Auction 6, 12/10/2008, lot 298 & Auction 11, 30/11/2012, lot 741), thus identifying it as X-2b ‘Small lettering’ and not X-3b as written on label. See also Lecompte 22 and 23.
