Ancient India, Kushan Empire. Huvishka. AD 152-192. AV Large Gold Repoussé Roundel plaque (55mm, 0.56 g ). diademed and crowned half-length bust of Huvishka left on clouds wearing a very decorated clothes, holding mace-scepter or floral object in right hand and Bird in left hand. bust with Hunnic features also, wearing large necklace with central medallion, all within ornate bead-and-reel style border. outer mounting consists of circular wreath within pelleted border. probably Local issue in Silk Road Region. for a similar type of item see CNG Esale 410 lot 1054 & Monks and Merchants: Silk Road Treasures from Northwest China, pp. 271-291 & CNG Triton XII, Lot 461.
