The Eagle Medallion cabinet is our museum-grade, African Mahogany and Makore, four drawer series topped with an Eagle medallion. Trim and decorative accents are made of dark walnut. The medallion is made of maple.This cabinet accommodates 36 NGC or PCGS slabs, thin or thick. Cabinet Dimensions: 13 x 10 x 6.5 inches. Trays are 12 x 9 x1 inches and slide completely free of the box for ease of viewing. You will receive the exact cabinet pictured; it is ready to ship! MUSEUM GRADE CONSTRUCTION: We are committed to creating cabinets that can be used with confidence by discerning collectors. For this reason, we have obtained input from a recognized expert in the field and reviewed pertinent literature to help us define best practices.* Consequently, all our products will be constructed according to the following specifications:
1. Only high tack fish glue (Lee Valley) was utilized for all gluing requirements.
2. Neutral pH wood, African Mahogany, was used for most of the box construction and the cabinet top is made of beautifully grained Makore.
3. All solid wood construction, except for the tray bottoms which are made of MDO plywood (specially sealed) and lined with conservation-grade felt (Benchmark). MDO sealed plywood is better for tray bottoms then solid wood due to decreased risk of outgassing and warp.
4. All surfaces are sealed with a coat of 1% wax-free shellac sanding sealer followed by two coats of water-based acrylic sealer (Safecoat- specially designed to seal wood to prevent outgassing).
5. It is recommended that raw coins be encapsulated to protect them from cabinet friction and environmental effects that can result in corrosion. Thus, this cabinet is designed for encapsulated coins.
