near Extremely Fine. Alexander the Mollossian, King of Epeiros, was a skilled general who defeated the Samnites and the Lucanians at Poseidonia in 332 BC. He made temporary peace with the Romans, then died unexpectedly in 330. His death is graphically described by Livy (VIII/24). Has was the brother of Olympias, mother to Alexander the Great.
