Comments
This dated tetradrachm belongs to the period after Phraates wars against Mark Antony and King's return to Parthia when he became more despotic, according to Dr. Assar (see Numismatic Art of Persia: CNG 2011, page 130). Assar only mentions issues of July/August 31BC (S. 51.15) and September/October 31BC (S.51.16). This is an extremely rare piece that falls for the missing month in between. Historically the set was struck before the appearance of Tiridates opposing Phraates in October 31BC.
