Gbl has assigned this coin type to Vasishka, but coins with the name visible in the obverse legend are hard to find. Joe Cribb had at one time assigned this type to Kanishka III, but I believe he no longer holds that view. Mitchiner has identified the type by the legend under the king's arm: Chhu. In sum, we are not sure who issued this coin. Be that as it may, this is a very pleasing specimen with the word "shaonanoshao" of the obverse legend clearly visible |
