Huvishka's coppers come with three different obverses: the elephant-rider, the couch-recliner, and the cross-legged, and with numerous reverse deities. The elephant-rider type shows the king sometimes carrying a spear, sometimes an elephant goad, and - in rare cases - a trident.
This coin is an early issue, as evidenced by the heavy weight and the use of the Kanishka tamgha on the reverse ... a inexpensive specimen of the type, which is hard to find in any condition. |
