Extremely rare bronze of Hieron II, 275-216 BC. Æ 20 / 5.57 grams. On this bronze the usual small ornamental dolphins around left and right prong of the trident, are depicted as large as the entire trident, so they are basically flanking the entire reverse edge. Condition: Good VF, fine green patina and nice metal. We've never seen such a reverse before. cf. calciati II, p. 369. Condition: F-VF. Ex.
