Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1885 M, Melbourne Mint, second young filleted head left of the third style, W.W. raised and distinct on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. St George and dragon right, short tail to horse, date in exergue, small B P initials to upper right, the stops absent (Bentley 784; McDonald 169c; Marsh 107A; S.3857C). Toned with some light bagmarks, has been graded and slabbed by PCGS as MS62.
