Elizabeth I (1558-1603), silver Half-Groat of Twopence, seventh issue (1601-02), crowned bust left, two pellets behind as a mark of value, Latin legend and beaded circles surrounding both sides, initial mark 1 (1601) both sides, 1.E; D;G; ROSA; SINE; SPINA., rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, CIVI TAS LON DON, weight 1.07g (N.2016; S.2586). A little double struck with some flat spotting in the legend from the striking, otherwise about very fine.
The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Elizabeth by the Grace of God, a rose without a thorn," and on the reverse "City of London".
