THEODOSIUS. (AD 378-395)
Obverse: D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG
Pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Reverse: GLORIA ROMANORUM
Emperor standing facing, head right, holding standard and globe.
Exergue: ALEB
Mint City: Alexandria. Minted AD 392-95
Reference: RIC IX, 21a.
Rare, especially for the mint of Alexandria, especially in this magnificent condition. Pretty much as struck. Beautiful metal patina, likely due to being buried in very dry, arid land, such as a desert.
