An interesting flan on this nice little Republican piece. It reminds me of the manufacturing process used by the Hasmonean Jews during the time of Mattathias Antigonus. A slight offset of the top and bottom mold producing a 'step' flan. This small diameter, thick flan is fairly typical for this issue. An unusual and interesting piece of this popular type for the detail oriented collector.
