 Before struck coinage was introduced to ancient Celtic Europe. Celtic tribes used these copper rings as currency. They were often worn on clothing and sometimes tied by ropes. Rings that were often referred to as Proto money were created in ancient Moesia, now Bulgaria, Celtic tribes started creating these rings somewhere in 7th Cent. B.C. You could find these "coins" spread all over the Europe with Celts.
