Comments Razia Sultana was one of the first, if not THE first, female Muslim ruler anywhere. She was the daughter of Iltutmish and had been groomed by him to rule, but the nobles of the court resisted her ascension to the throne of Delhi and eventually rebelled and overthrew her. Her coins are quite scarce.
