Comments Tripuri was later the capital of the great Kalachuri kingdom, but this coin dates from the 3rd century BCE, as we can surmise from the style of the Brahmi letters. The town is mentioned in several ancient Indian texts and must have been an active trading center. The coins are of course very rare and are made of an unusual arsenous potin. A choice specimen with full legend and clear details.
