Denomination : Silver denarius.  Mint : Laodicea

Date : While I have not yet tracked down the exact dates involved, this coin must have been struck during a fairly brief period early in AD 198, as it has the AVGG on the reverse to indicated it was struck after Caracalla was given the rank of Augustus, but it also have IMP X on the obverse so before Septimius was awarded IMP XI, also in AD 198.

Reference : Sear-6370 variety. RIC IV i, 102 C

Size : 16.5 x 17.8 mm.  Weight : 3.19 grams.

Grade : gVF/F

Obverse : Head of Severus right, with L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP X around.

Reverse : Victory walking left, holding wreath and palm branch, with VICT AVGG COS II P P around.
