Mint and Date : this type is thought to have been struck at an uncertain military mint in Coele--Syria, sometime after 202 BC.

Grade : good Fine with a black patin with lots of cleaning marks.
Obverse : Facing Gorgoneion on a Macedonian shield boss.
Reverse : Elephant walking right, with BASILEWS ANTOCOU in two lines below but most of the lower word if off the edge. There would be an anchor above the elephant but it is also off the edge. This was a very carelessly struck military issue and most examples are poorly centered like this one.
