Denomination : Bronze AS.

Reference : Sear-689, Cr. 298.  RRC 195/1.

Size : 28.2 X 30.2 mm.  Weight : 26.51 grams.

Grade : VF with a number of flan flaws (3 majar depressions caused by air bubbles trapped in the flan mold, and a few fissures where the metal did not flow perfectly into the flan mold).

Obverse : Janus head with I above.

Reverse : Ship's prow with a donkey (ass) standing on the deck, with ROMA below, with with I to the right.

Provenance : ex. Tony Hardy collection.  ex CNG mail bid sale 61 (Sept. 25, 2002) as part of lot 1182.

Thile technically an anonymous issue as there is no moneyers name on it, but I suspect the donkey on the prow actually identifies a moneyer but we have no way of associating a name with him.
