Denomination : Silver denarius.

Roman Republic. P. Servilius Rullus. ca. 100 BC.

Reference : Sear-207. RSC-Servilia 14.

Size : 19.0 x 21.3 mm. Weight : 3.81 grams.

Grade
: F

Obverse : Helmeted bust of Minerva left, with RVLLI behind.

Reverse : Victory holding a palm branch, while driving a biga right, with P SERVILI M F below, P in the right field below the horses legs.

There are two marks on Minerva's helmet that do not belong there but they appear to be part of the original striking, rather than later damage.   The spacing and cuvature are a close match to the shape of the horse's body on the reverse, suggesting this coin may be a flip strike, or possibly struck from clashed dies.
