zoom view

Denomination : Silver Drachm.  Mint : Petre in Jordan.

Size : 12.2 x 13.2 mm.  Weight : 3.45 grams.

Reference : Sear Greek Imperial - 5694 variety.

Grade : aVF, toned.

Obverse : Bust of Aretas IV with an inscription naming him around.  The part of the inscription behind the head is off the flan, but there is enough inscription to the right of the head to confirm the attribution to  Aretas IV.

Reverse : Veiled head of Queen Huldu right, but all of the reverse inscriptions are off the flan.

As is normal for these drachms, much of the inscriptions are off the flan.  The obverse inscription which would have includes a date is on the flan I have not been able to read it (even for full inscription examples in books I can never figure out how to read the dates).
