Juba II was a friend of Augustus, which allowed him to continue to rule as King of Mauretania long after one might have expected that region to be annexed into the Roman Empire.  He was married to Cleopatra Selene, the daugher of Mark Antony and Cleopatra VII.

Size : 16.5 x 17.9 mm. Weight : 3.16 grams.

Grade : gVF with attractive toning.

Obverse : Laurate head of Juba right, with REX JUBA to the right (the inscription is in part off the flan).

Reverse : Crossed cornucopiae and sceptre, with a small crescent above.
