Denomination : Silver tetradrachm. Mint : Arados
Date : Price dates this type to between 324 and 320 BC, which means the type was first struck during Alexanders lifetime, although it does continue after his death. The style is typical of that usually associated with his lifetime issues.
Reference : Price-3309.
Size : 25.2 x 26.7 mm. Weight : 17.21 grams.
Grade : gXF, well centred with a full ethnic. A few dark spots on the obverse that are only noticable when very up close to the coin. This is a very striking coin when viewed in person (much nicer than the image would suggest).
Obverse : Head of Herakles right, wearing the lion's skin.
Reverse : Zeus seated left, holding a sceptre and eagle, with BASILEWS below and ALEXANDROU to the right, with an AT monogram below the throne.
