Denomination : Silver tetradrachm.  Mint : Memphis.

The attribution of these coins to Memphis is not universally accepted, and some believe there were issued from Alexandria.

Date : Price dates this issue to ca. 322 BC, just after Alexanders's death, and struck by Ptolemy I as Satrap, in Alexander's name.

Reference : Price-3971. 

Size : 24.7 x 28.1 mm.  Weight : 16.91 grams.

Grade : VF, toned.

Obverse : Head of Herakles right, wearing the lion's skin.

Reverse : Zeus seated left, holding a sceptre and eagle with a Rose below his arm, with ALEXANDROU to the right.
