Julia Domna was the wife of Septimius Severus, and mother of both Caracalla and Geta.

Denomination : Silver denarius.

: This type is assigned to the Alexandrian mint issues, and while the reverse has the typical crude Alexandrian mint look, the obverse die does not have the typical bug eyed look of the Alexandrian issues and looks more like Rome style.

Date : Some reference give this to AD 195 and other to the period of AD 198 to 200.

Size : 16.2 x 16.9 mm.  Weight : 2.23 grams (Alexandrian issues are often low weight).

Grade : VF / Fine 

Obverse : Head of Julia Domna right, with IVLIA AVGVSTA around.

Reverse : Venus standing left, holding apple and pulling at clothing, with VENVS FELIX around.
