Pontius Pilate was the Roman Procurator of Tiberius who presided over the trial of Christ.

Denomination : AE 17, probably a Prutah

Reference : Sear Greek Imperial - 5643 variety.

Size : 14.7 x 15.6 mm. Weight : 1.37 grams.

Grade : VF with close to to full obverse inscription, but some reverse weakness around the edges.

Obverse :  Lituus (astrologers staff) with TIBERIOU KAICAROC around.
