zoom view

Denomination : Silver Zuz (denarius).

Date : This type is un-dated but was struck in year 3 which is AD 134.

Reference : GIC 5667.  Hendin 723.

Size : 18.3 x 19.0 mm.  Weight : 3.35 grams.

Grade : gVF with a fairly strong strike.

Obverse : Hebrew legend reading "Shimon" in two lines within a wreath.

Reverse : Lyre surrounded by a Hebrew inscription reading "for the freedom of Jerusalem".

There are traces of an undertype (these are all struck over earler coins) but due to the strong strike the undertype is mostly obliterated and I have not been able to determine what it is.

We stand behind the authenticity of our coins. Grading is subjective and the grade assigned may vary between numismatic professionals. The image is the best indicator of the grade.
