zoom view

Denomination : AE 3. Mint : Heraclea, 2nd officina

Size : 19.5 x 21.1 mm. Weight : 2.52 grams.

Reference : Sear-4087, RIC 110

Grade : VF, with an attractive dark green patination, and struck of a large flan so well-centered for the type.   There is a flan crack that looks worse on the image than it actually is.

Obverse : Head of Jovian left with DN IOVIANVS P F AVG around.

Reverse : VOT V MVLT X in two lines within a wreath, with the mint mark HERACB (Heraclea 2nd officina) below.

Except for parts of the beaded boarder on the obverse, there is nothing off the flan on this specimen, which, in spite of the flan crack, makes it far better than is usual for this type.
