Reference : A virtually identical lamp is listed and illustrated in QEDEM, MONOGRAPHS OF THE INSTITUTE OF ARCHAEOLOGY, THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY OF JERSULAEM #8, lamp #331.

This type was lamp was made and used only in the area of Judea in the late 1st century BC and early 1st century AD, and is commonly known as a Herodian Lamp.  The very plain design (no decoration of any type) would have appealed to the Jewish population.

This is one of the only types of lamps that one can safely say is from the Holy Land at the Time of Christ (a claim one sees about lamps of all types, even for 8th century AD Islamic types).
