Illyria, (Epidamnos) Dyrrhachium. After 229 BC. 

Denomination : Silver drachm.  Reference : Sear Greek - 1899 to 1901 variety 

Size : 16.2 x 17.3 mm. Weight : 3.18 grams.

Grade
: VF.

Obverse : Cow with calf, and the  moneyers name 'Meniskos'  in Greek above the cow's back, with a standing eagle above that.

 Reverse : Double star pattern in a square, with an inscription naming the city around.  The last part of the city name is off the flan but the intact inscription would have read 'Dyr - Me - ni - skou' in Greek.

This type is from very late in the Dyrrhachium series, at a time when there was a high mint production and most coins were struck carelessly.
