Castulo was a city in the Citerior Province of Spain, orignally colonized by the Phoenicians.

Denomination : AE 18 (Quadrans).

Date : 1st century BC, probably ca. 50 BC.

Size : 14.2 x 15.6 mm.  Weight : 3.65 grams.

Reference : Villaronga pg. 337, 48.  Burgos 566.

Grade : gVF, with a very dark brown patina.

Obverse : Male head right.

Reverse : Boar standing right, with star above and an Iberian inscription that reads KASTILO below (but the first part of the inscription is off the flan due to a slightly irregular flan shape at that point.
