Hostilian, AD 251.  As Caesar.

Denomination : Bronze sestertius. Mint : Rome. Reference : Sear-2764

Size : 25.5 x 29.2 mm. Weight : 17.48 grams.

Grade :  aVF with a dark brown patination.

Obverse : Head of Hostilian right, with C VALENS HOSTIL MES QVINTVS N C around.  Struck on a square flan which usually causes much of the inscription to be off the flan, but on this coin atleast part of every letter is visible.

Reverse : Apollo seated left, holding a branch while resting back on a lyre, with PRINCIPI  IVVENTVTIS around and S C in the fields.
