Claudius II Gothicus.  Issue of AD 269-270.

Denomination : Potin tetradrachm. Mint  : Alexandria in Egypt.

Reference : Milne-4240. Sear-11411

Size : 19.7 x 20.5   Weight : 10.97 grams.

Grade :  gVF (probably XF for wear) with a matte dark brown patination.  Nicer than the image suggests.

Obverse : Head of Claudius II right with a Greek inscription around.

Reverse : Bust of Hermanubis right, with what Milne describes as a lotus bud on his head (but it look to me like a modius), with a caduceus surmounted by a palm leaf to the right, and the date mark for year-2 in the left field.
