"Thread Ring" Wu Shu are standard Wu Shu coins of the Western Han period that have had the centers punch out of them to reduce the weight.

Denomination : Bronze Wu Shu (5 shu) probably deduced to circulate as a 3 shu.

Date : It is not know when these "Thread Ring" wu shu were modified to this form, and it could be any time between about 100 BC and 600 AD.

Size : 24.0 mm.  Weight : 1.39 grams (a little lighter than usual for these, as they average closer to 1.6 grams).

Grade : Fine

Obverse : 'Wu Shu' (meaning 5 shu), although only part of the characters remain after the centre was punch out. 

Reverse : blank.
