Emperor : Te Tsung using the title Kuang-hsu.

Date : this denomination and style starts in 1887, examples with the extra character at the top of the reverse were only made in 1898 and 1899.  The character "ri" on the reverse is an indication of the quarter of the year it was made in and while we believe "ri" means the third quarter of 1898, we cannot confirm this.

Denomination : Bronze 1 cash.   Mint : Board of Revenue in Bejing.

Size : 20.3 mm.  Weight : 2.55 grams.

Obverse : "Kuang-hsu t'ung-pao".

Reverse : "Boo Pao-ch'uan" for the Board of Revenue mint, with "RI" at the top.
